We are looking forward to another successful year in the academy. For our 2008 team members, the upcoming year is an exciting and unique program designed to position you for the next steps in your lacrosse career. The YOUNG GUNS program is an annual program for elite grade 7 student-athletes. We are looking for the top 2008 born players to participate in YOUNG GUNS. We will offer a year-round training experience for players, attend the top youth events in the mid-Atlantic, provide top-level coaching and outfit the team with the best equipment and apparel in lacrosse.

To kick off our 2021 Young Guns Program will be hosting an evaluation and selection camp for the top 44 recruits.

What is the Young Guns Program?

The YOUNG GUNS program is Ontario's most comprehensive and thorough U13 (20008 born) training program for lacrosse players who wish to take their game to the next level. The goal of the program is to provide VALUE and high-level lacrosse training opportunities for players to develop and advance their skill set. Each year, a new team of EDGE YOUNG GUNS will be selected to represent EDGE Lacrosse and be provided with a lacrosse experience unlike any other! 

Schedule Overview

Players Selected after Evaluation and Selection Camp will participate in the following program in 2021:

Winter 2021 (January 16– March 27)
Young Guns will train for minimum 1.5 hours a week (SATURDAY) through the winter months as they begin to gel and prepare for summer events.

Spring 2021 (April – June)
Teams will train 3 hours each week in preparation for summer recruiting events. Training will take place on weekends and possible weeknight, dependent on OMFL schedules.

Summer Events
The team will travel 3-4x to high profile events between May 22 – July 30th. These events will provide our members with access to the most prestigious and competitive youth events.

2021 Summer Tournaments

Through our relationships and reputation. EDGE has access to some of the top US events. 

During the summer, the team will participate in 3-4 highly competitive championship tournaments that will provide the team and opportunity to compete against the top US clubs in the Nation. These events are likely to be hosted in the US hotbeds of Maryland and Pennsylvania area.

We will select events that do not conflict with major OLA 'A' events/qualifiers.

The YOUNG GUNS program falls under the guidance and support of our Men's JV Academy Program (2006, 2007, 2008)

Dylan Webster is our Men's JV Director and will oversee and assist with the season long programming, development and training for the 2008 YOUNG GUNS.

Dylan graduated from Quinnipiac in 2014 after an extremely successful 4 year career at Quinnipiac. Dylan compiled impressive statistics over his career:

The Head Coach for the 2008 YOUNG GUNS is CONOR SHARKEY. 

Conor is an EDGE alum and product of Cambridge Minor Lacrosse. Conor graduated from Lake Erie College in 2019 and had a succesful career as the starting goalie for the Storm.

Young Guns - Positional Staff

We employ positional specialists and support staff at all training and events. These staff will work and support Coach Conor and Dylan to ensure members are receiving elite player and positional development throughout the season.

NCAA Experience and Tours

Through our relationships with NCAA schools and coaches, we will arrange 1 school tour and visit in the fall and summer season. These tours will be scheduled around current team events and provide the team an opportunity to visit and speak with NCAA staff and Edge Alum.
