Congratulations to Andrew Hasz on his recent commitment to Lindenwood University! Andrew, a product of Orangeville is currently enrolled at the Hill Academy as a PG where he is training with Brodie Merrill and many of the top student athletes in Ontario. Andrew, is a 3x Elite Honours member, with a 4.0 GPA and is planning on earning his B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. in business while at Lindenwood.

We look forward to following Andrew's success at Lindenwood in 2016!

Where did you first begin playing lacrosse? Where are you currently enrolled/playing?

AH - I first began playing box lacrosse at the age of 4 and field when I was 12 for Orangeville Currently, I am enrolled as a PG at the Hill Academy in Vaughn, and I am a member of the Orangeville Northmen Jr. B box lacrosse club.

Why did you choose Lindenwood?

AH - I chose Lindenwood because it was the right fit for me. As soon as I stepped foot on campus I could see myself attending the school. Coach Lange and the rest of the staff made me feel welcome throughout my whole visit. Lindenwood offers the degree I was looking to obtain, and the opportunity to compete for a thriving D2 lacrosse program.

What are you looking forward to most at Lindenwood?

AH - I'm looking forward to competing alongside a group of guys with a common goal. Obviously a conference championship and a national championship are on my mind and I can't wait to be a part of a team that is competing for both of those titles. In the classroom, I'm looking forward to the challenge of obtaining both my B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. in business.

Future ambitions and goals beyond NCAA lax?

AH - Beyond NCAA lacrosse I want to get a job in finance. Lacrosse wise, I want to give back to where I came from and inspire the next generation of up and coming lacrosse players.

When did you join Edge? Can you tell us about your experience in the program?

AH - I joined Edge in the fall of grade 11. My experience with Edge was memorable, I gained a lot of experience playing against the best competition on the club lacrosse circuit.

Any future advice for Edge members?

AH - My advice for Edge members would be to work hard both in the classroom and on the field. Although the recruiting process can be frustrating, if you keep working opportunities will come.

Favourite memory with Edge?

AH - My favourite memory from Edge would be the 2014 NSCLA Championship's with the 2015 group. Unfortunately we lost in the finals to the Baltimore Crabs, but as whole the weekend was a great experience.

Who did you look up to growing up?

AH - Growing up I looked up to Dan Dawson. His work ethic is comparable to no other, and he has a list of accomplishments that not many other players can say they've achieved. But most importantly he is a team first guy.

Any shoutouts, special thanks

AH - I'd like to first off give a thank you to my parents, without you none of this would be possible. I would also like to thank my coaches and teachers at The Hill Academy for the life lessons in terms of character and being a student athlete. Finally, thank you to Stu and Alan, and all the coaches I had during my time with Edge.
