Congrats to 2017 Midfielder, Jake Boudreau on his verbal commitment to Robert Morris University! The Brampton, Ontario native is a well rounded midfielder, capable of playing on both offense and defense in a variety of roles. Jake is a product of the Brampton Minor Lacrosse Association, where he currently plays Jr.A for the Brampton Excelsiors. Jake plays strong short stick d, is physical and athletic enough to stay with his man on defense. On offense, Jake has good vision and IQ to make the right play with the ball in his stick and off ball. Jake has a good outside shot when given time and space and has a good stick to take the ball inside and take hard checks.  Jake will fit in well at RMU, where they have a number of Canadians and EDGE Alumni already. Coach Adam Lukanchoff who has coached Jake for two years now had this to say about Jake's play and development:

'Robert Morris has really struck gold with the signing of Jake. Jake is a tremendous lacrosse player, who continuously is learning the field lacrosse game and excelling at all aspects. Jake is an incredibly athletic young man and a great two way midfielder, who is up to any task that I relied on him for. In my mind Jake will no doubt have an amazing NCAA career and continue to grow as a lacrosse player'

We had a chance to catch up with Jake about his time with EDGE:

Where did you first begin playing lacrosse?
JB - I first played lacrosse when I was about 4 years old in Brampton.

Where are you currently playing?
JB - I play field lacrosse for the Edge 2017 team and I play box for Brampton Excelsiors Jr. A.

Why did you choose Robert Morris?
JB - I chose RMU because I loved the campus, location and over all feel of the school. I could see myself having success at Robert Morris because I love the hard working and fast pace style of play.

What are you looking forward to most at Robert Morris?
JB - I am most looking for to playing lacrosse and competing for an NCAA championship while I get an education at the same time.

Future ambitions and goals beyond NCAA lacrosse?
JB - After my NCAA lacrosse career I would like to hopefully play in the NLL one day. As for my career, I’m not exactly sure what I want to do yet but I would like it to be something involving sports.

Any advice for future edge members?
JB - Some advice I have for future Edge members is to be persistent. You might not find a school right away but if you keep working on your game and on the recruiting process there is no doubt you will find a home while you’re with Edge. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the journey.

Favourite memory with Edge?
JB - My favourite memory with edge was my first game. It was at Towson on the stadium and I remember being all nervous for it.

Who did you look up to growing up?
JB- I looked up to Colin Doyle from the Toronto Rock. I watched a lot of rock games and Doyle would always find a way to make an unbelievable play. I still love to watch him play.

Any shout outs or special thanks?
JB - I want to thank everyone that has helped me in the Edge program especially Alan, Stu, Adam and my teammates. None of this would have been possible without your guys help. I also want to thank my family for taking me on the long road trips and being there for me along the way. It’s all greatly appreciated.
